Container Pricing
The prices fluctuate; influenced by the cost of steel, petrol and labour, all fees, including delivery, are subject to change. If your recent quote has expired, please feel free to ask for another one; we're here to help.
Shipping Containers of Birmingham supplies high-quality storage and transport containers to businesses and residents across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We deliver reliable new and used units directly to your site, from city centre developments to industrial hubs near the M1.
Our team provides clear, professional advice on container grades and specifications. We help you determine the most cost-effective solution, whether that means purchasing a shipping container for long-term use or hiring one in Nottingham for a temporary project.

We stock two primary grades of containers. Selecting the correct condition ensures you meet your functional needs without overspending.
These containers are manufactured in China and shipped to the UK with a single cargo load. They arrive in excellent condition with pristine floors and clean paintwork. You may see minor handling marks, but they are structurally perfect. One-trip units come with a factory-fitted lock box for added security. They are the standard choice for retail spaces, schools, or visible sites in Nottingham where aesthetics matter.
Used containers have spent years in global trade. They will show rust, dents, and surface repairs. However, we guarantee they are wind and watertight. The doors seal correctly, preventing water ingress. These are the practical choice for secure storage on industrial estates or agricultural land where function is the priority.
Most Nottingham clients require standard ISO dimensions. We hold ample stock of these sizes for quick dispatch.
We also supply specialised equipment for specific logistics requirements:
Shipping Containers of Birmingham manages the logistics from our depot to your premises. We cover all key areas, including Colwick Industrial Estate, Lenton Lane, and Blenheim Industrial Estate.
We typically deliver using a HIAB vehicle (a truck with an integral crane). This allows us to lift the container off the truck and place it parallel to the vehicle. The ground must be hard-standing, such as concrete or tarmac. We cannot lift over buildings or deliver onto soft grass or soil, as the truck may sink.
Access depends on the container size:
If your site is near the M1 (Junctions 24 to 26) or major arterial roads, delivery is straightforward. For restricted access sites, we may request photos to assess feasibility before dispatch.
Shipping containers are generally temporary structures. Placing one on a commercial site, such as Giltbrook Retail Park, or on an active construction site usually causes no issues. However, if you plan to keep a container permanently in a residential area, you should check the regulations. We recommend consulting the Nottingham City Council Planning portal for specific guidance.
Prices fluctuate with the global steel market. A used 20ft container costs significantly less than a new one-trip unit. Delivery costs are calculated from our Midlands depot to your specific postcode (NG). For a current price, please use our quote form.
If you need the container for less than 12 months, hiring a shipping container is usually more economical. Buying offers better value for long-term storage or if you plan to modify the unit. We can advise on your project's break-even point.
For used containers, we can email photos of the specific unit or a similar grade container before dispatch. This ensures you know the cosmetic condition. New containers are of consistent quality and generally do not require inspection.
Yes. We can modify containers to include personnel doors, windows, lining, and electrics. These are popular for site offices and workshops. Contact us to discuss your specifications.
