New (One-Trip) Shipping Containers

One-trip containers are manufactured in China and shipped to the UK with a single cargo load. They arrive in excellent condition. You can expect immaculate floors and clean paintwork, though minor handling marks may occur. These units include a factory-fitted lock box for high security. They are the standard choice for retail sites, schools, or visible locations where appearance is a priority.

Used (Wind and Watertight) Containers

Used containers have served in global trade for several years. They will show signs of wear, such as rust, dents, and patch repairs. However, we guarantee they are wind and watertight. The doors seal correctly, and the structure is sound. These are the most popular choices for secure storage on industrial estates or agricultural land where function outweighs cosmetics.

Container Sizes and Dimensions

Most clients in Leicester require standard ISO dimensions. We keep these in stock for rapid dispatch.

• 20ft Shipping Container: The most common size for static storage. It fits into a standard parking space length (approx. 20ft long x 8ft wide) but requires extra width for delivery access.

Vehicle Access and Placement

We typically deliver using a HIAB vehicle (a truck with an onboard crane). This allows us to lift the container and place it adjacent to the vehicle. Drivers require hard-standing ground, such as concrete or paved surfaces. We cannot lift over buildings or deliver onto soft grass or mud, as the vehicle may sink.

Access requirements vary by container size:

• 20ft units: Delivered on a rigid vehicle. These can often access tighter spots in city locations or residential driveways.
• 40ft units: Delivered on an articulated vehicle. These require a large turning circle, similar to a standard HGV.

If your site is near a major route, such as the M1 (Junction 21) or the A46, delivery is usually straightforward. For sites with restricted access, such as narrow lanes in rural Leicestershire or busy city centre zones, we may ask for photos beforehand to ensure a successful drop.

Planning Permission

Shipping containers are often classified as temporary structures, but the rules vary by location and use case. Placing a container on a designated industrial estate, such as Magna Park, is rarely an issue. However, if you plan to site a container permanently in a residential area or a high-visibility zone, you should check with the local authority.
